About me

In 2002 I decided to put a life long desire into action and build a career with Dogs. I attended Writtle College where I trained to become a Dog Groomer. I have not looked back! I find this work so rewarding and an honour to work on a daily basis with man’s best friend, although sometimes the looks I get from a wet, soapy dog are not so adoring! From the grooming aspect of things developed the behavioural side of my business.

I had been experiencing difficulties with my own two dogs, my Beardie X was fearful of loud noises and stubborn to return on request and my GSD took control and was becoming very aggressive around other dogs, barking in the garden excessively and general unruly behaviour. This could not continue.

In 2003 I discovered the work of Jan Fennell ‘The Dog Listener’. By applying the rules stated in the books, I was able to change my dogs’ world and allow them to relax and be happy for the first time.

As a dog groomer, I am constantly being approached about behaviour issues and decided to attend the courses with Jan Fennell and hold the ‘Advanced Certificate in Canine Communication’ having qualified 2007. I have also attended a course with Turid Rugaas, the author of many books including the very interesting ‘Calming Signals: What Your Dog Tells You’.

I continue to attend workshops and talks that strive for non-violent canine communication enabling me to offer a more rounded service to my clients.
